Pooh Shiesty Faces Federal Charges in Alleged Kidnapping of Gucci Mane

The Pooh Shiesty kidnapping case has taken a serious turn after U.S. federal prosecutors accused the rapper and several others of carrying out a planned armed attack on fellow artist Gucci Mane. Authorities say the incident occurred in January at a Dallas music studio and involved kidnapping, robbery, and coercion during a business meeting gone wrong.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Memphis rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30 were among nine people linked to the alleged attack. Prosecutors say eight suspects, including Shiesty and his father, were arrested across multiple cities, including Nashville, Memphis, and Dallas.
The prosecutors claim the meeting was meant to discuss contract matters between Shiesty and Gucci Mane, who signed him to his 1017 Records label in 2020. However, the situation escalated when Shiesty displayed an assault weapon and forced one victim to sign documents.
Allegations of a Planned Studio Attack
Investigators describe the incident as a coordinated operation. Court filings say Big30 blocked the studio exit while other individuals carried firearms and carried out the robbery. Victims lost luxury watches, jewelry, and cash. One person suffered an assault severe enough to nearly lose consciousness.
Prosecutors point to several forms of evidence. They include surveillance footage, phone data, fingerprints, and social media activity. Authorities also used electronic monitoring records that allegedly placed Shiesty at the scene despite being under home detention. This violation has become central to the investigation.
The case also highlights Shiesty’s prior legal issues. In 2021, he received a five-year sentence for firearms conspiracy charges. He served three years and was released in October, with house arrest conditions.
Officials say additional evidence connects the suspects to the crime. Car rental records link Shiesty’s father to the scene. Hotel bookings near the studio also tie the group to the incident. Social media posts reportedly show some suspects with items believed to be stolen.
Federal prosecutors say they will transfer all defendants to Texas to face charges. If convicted, each person could face life in prison under U.S. law.
The Pooh Shiesty kidnapping case has not yet received a public response from the rapper’s legal team. Meanwhile, the allegations continue to draw attention within the music industry, especially because of the prior working relationship between Shiesty and Gucci Mane.
Authorities say the investigation continues. They expect more developments as the case moves through the courts.
